So we had our flooring appt today! My husband decided to change the standard vinyl flooring in the kitchen and morning room to laminate:) and we also changed the foyer to laminate even though hardwood came with it. We wanted the house to be consistent. Our choice for the laminate flooring was the tropical cherry in the kitchen, morning room, and foyer. The carpet is standard Thornwood and upgraded padding throughout the house to 8 lbs I believe. The bathrooms are all standard vinyl and we picked the Gienville color for that. Our appt was short bc we knew what we wanted thanks to all the other Ryan Homes bloggers out there:) my husband kept thinking that vinyl was laminate and laminate was vinyl for some odd reason until he saw it. He said it was too ugly for him and wouldn't look good in the kitchen so we upgraded. Lol... Thank goodness!! I didn't want vinyl in the kitchen either! And it would be expensive to replace and install later on with laminate flooring. So we are good with flooring. Btw I was 15-20 minutes late for our flooring appt bc I got my time all messed up! Lol... But I made it and it didn't last long which was good!
I went to check out the lot after lunch with the husband and they finally had the stake markers out to align where the house will be. There are 4 pin pointing where each corner of the house will be:) when I saw it, I was thinking to myself wow, this is gonna be a huge house!! Anyways I took some pictures of the flooring and where the stake markers are. Just two pictures altogether. Enjoy!!

Pre-Construction Meeting
We finally had the pre-construction meeting today! It was a very last minute meeting but so worth it!! Our PM told us that the lot should be stake tomorrow and he will update us every Friday if possible! I'm so excited!! Hopefully they'll break ground next week! He was a pleasure to talk to! Loving my PM so far! Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones getting to me. Or just valentines day!! We are excited about getting this process started! Our floor meeting is scheduled for Tuesday the 19th at 11am! I'm extremely excited about that! I just can't wait to get things up and going. Will update more about the flooring next week:)

Guardian Appt:)
I forgot to post about how our appt with Guardian went. It was actually very good! It only lasted an hour because we knew what we wanted. We got the standard plan with 3 cable wires and 1 phone wire. One cable will be in the family room, one in the bonus and one in the owners room. The phone wire will be in the kitchen. We also got the standard security system where we can arm and disarm with our cell phones:) I can't wait to see how everything turns out. Our security system is also pet friendly in case we ever get a little puppy for the kids. Or for me. Hehehe...
So we talked to our SR after the Guardian appt and made some changes/upgrades to the house. We added the handrails and morning room light pre wire and will be paying that out of pocket when it comes time to close:) I'm so glad we decided to get the handrails bc the Verona looks more prettier with the handrails instead of a half wall. I think a half wall would look kind of tacky in my opinion.. But anyways, our SR said that our house should be built and ready to close by the end of May which gives us time to save save save!! I can't wait!! Flooring hasn't called to schedule an appt yet so we've been waiting two weeks for them to call. Our SR told us to call him if the flooring company hadn't called us by Wednesday. Let's hope and pray they call us Monday! I'll keep updating as soon as something new pops up:)

Pre-Approved with NVR Mortgage
We are approved!! I think? We got the package that contains all the goodies where my husband had to sign and as I am typing right now, all the documents they need are being printed=). My husband doesn't seem to be fond of NVR as of right now just because they're still in the stone ages. LOL...I guess it's with all the printing and things that they want on paper rather than having it sent to them by email. I honestly don't care as long as it just gets done! So anyways...
I have learned of something from one of the other Ryan home bloggers and I can actually just write a check for something that I want in the house but don't want to include in the mortgage payment! How awesome is that!! I told my husband about it and we're thinking about just writing a check for the under cabinet lighting and morning room light fixture and maybe the staircase railings. I mean, why the heck would we want to pay interest with those little things you know? That's just crazy. At the end of 30 years, I'm sure we would have paid over $500 to the morning room light fixture. Lol...But yes, we will probably tell our SR to take out the little things and we pay for it via check=) So I'm kind of glad that takes the burden off some of the mortgage.
More news to tell!! My husband and I have decided to move back in with his parents! They actually really miss us living with them. I do miss living with them too because sometimes we cook too much and there's nobody to help us finish eating all the good food. But we actually decided this just last night after we got the NVR package and we are packing everything today and moving in tomorrow!! We've been renting his uncle's place for over a year now and it was nice being on our own but when we needed a babysitter, I felt bad for dropping my son off at his grandma and grandpa's house since we didn't live there anymore. But so far, we've only packed all the kitchen things and now all we have left to pack is our clothes. We'll be picking up the U-Haul drop tomorrow at 8am and will be missing church for tomorrow since we wanna get everything done before the SUPERBOWL!! Hopefully we can find some people to help us. So anyways, we're pre-approved (I believe that's the right saying) and we just have to save up all our pennies for the next 3-4 months. Please continue to keep us in your prayers with the new baby and with the saving=)
